Endometrial tissue sampling for histology under sedation or IV anesthesia.
Diagnostic curettage (D&C) is a gynecological procedure aimed at sampling endometrial tissue for histological examination. It helps identify causes of uterine bleeding, suspected hyperplasia or polyps, and assess the state of the lining before infertility treatment.
The procedure is carried out under sedation or intravenous anesthesia. Through the cervix, using a curette or a vacuum device, the doctor gently removes the surface layer of the endometrium. The collected material is sent for histology.
Left — reasons for the procedure. Right — what histology provides.
