Horev Medical Center is holding a training session for cytologists, morphologists, and laboratory doctors.
The sessions are led by Nina Borisovna Ivanova, a top-category cytologist with more than 20 years of experience, who trained under leading cytologists in Israel, Turkey, France, and the United States.
The curriculum includes theoretical and practical sessions on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, and organization of cervical cancer (CC) screening, as well as the technique for collecting and staining Pap smears and interpreting them under the Bethesda 2001 System.
A certificate will be issued upon completion. To improve the quality of collected smears and the reliability of cytology reports, participants' work will be monitored online during the first three months.
Cervical cancer is today a preventable disease. Cytological screening combined with colposcopy, HPV testing, and treatment of precancerous cervical lesions is a life-saving technology.
In Uzbekistan, cervical cancer ranks second after breast cancer. The vast majority of CC cases are diagnosed at clinical stages 2–4.
The Pap test is the first screening tool that, over more than half a century of use, has delivered remarkable results in many developed countries. It is simple to perform, inexpensive, and allows large numbers of women to be screened.
We invite you to learn how to work to international standards and contribute to the fight against this deadly but preventable disease.
