Can anyone simply start training? Before going to the gym, an athlete should make sure their body is healthy and undergo a series of examinations.
First, you need to take a complete blood count (CBC). It provides information about the body's key health indicators. The CBC can, for example, reveal an inflammatory process taking place in the body.
You should also take a biochemical blood test. It carries information about the function of organ and tissue systems and helps detect chronic diseases. Endocrine disorders can be identified through a hormone blood test. For workouts to be truly effective, you need to maintain a healthy hormonal balance. Before going to the gym, you should test blood levels of thyroid hormones, sex hormones, adrenal hormones, and pituitary hormones.
It is also advisable to take a general urinalysis to assess the urinary system. Another important examination before starting training is an electrocardiogram (ECG), which can detect heart disease and heart rhythm disorders. All of these tests should be repeated at least once a year.
