Liver sonoelastography at Horev Medical

SWE elastography is the gold standard for the non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis. The device generates elastic waves and measures parenchymal stiffness in kPa/m/s. The method is suitable for monitoring in viral hepatitis, NAFLD, alcoholic disease, after therapy, and before surgical interventions.

Preparation

How to prepare and how it is performed

On an empty stomach for 6–8 hours
One day before — a gentle diet, exclude fatty and gas-forming foods
Measurements at several points of the right lobe, an average value and a confidence interval are formed

Interpretation

How the result is read

Stiffness values are compared with the clinical picture, biochemistry, and ultrasound findings. In case of ambiguous results, the doctor may recommend elastography over time or invasive verification.
