Myomectomy is a gentle operation to remove fibroid nodes while preserving the uterus. At Horev Medical Center we choose the optimal access — hysteroscopic, laparoscopic or open — based on the size and location of the nodes and plans for pregnancy.
We use modern instruments and careful coagulation to preserve uterine tissue and its blood supply. Pre-operative diagnostics include ultrasound (MRI as indicated) and tests. The intervention is performed under anaesthesia. Afterwards — observation and recovery in the inpatient ward.
| Clinical situation | Criterion | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Heavy periods, anaemia, pain | Submucous / intramural node, cavity deformation | Myomectomy (hysteroscopic / laparoscopic) |
| Pregnancy planning | Node >3–4 cm, submucous / intramural, affecting implantation | Removal of the node while preserving the uterus |
| Rapid fibroid growth | Dynamics on ultrasound / MRI | Surgical treatment after further examination |
| Pressure on the bladder / bowel | Large subserous / intramural nodes | Removal of the nodes (more often laparoscopy) |
The cost is determined individually and includes the consultation, anaesthesia, surgery, care and inpatient stay.
