Myomectomy at Horev Medical

Myomectomy is a gentle operation to remove fibroid nodes while preserving the uterus. At Horev Medical Center we choose the optimal access — hysteroscopic, laparoscopic or open — based on the size and location of the nodes and plans for pregnancy.

How the operation is performed

We use modern instruments and careful coagulation to preserve uterine tissue and its blood supply. Pre-operative diagnostics include ultrasound (MRI as indicated) and tests. The intervention is performed under anaesthesia. Afterwards — observation and recovery in the inpatient ward.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Which access will be chosen — laparoscopy or an incision?
It depends on the size, number and location of the nodes. When possible, laparoscopy is preferred; submucous nodes are removed hysteroscopically.
When can pregnancy be planned?
Usually after 3–6 months (individually, following a follow-up examination and ultrasound).
Will the nodes grow back?
A fibroid is a hormone-dependent disease; there is a risk of new nodes appearing. We provide recommendations on follow-up and a monitoring plan.
What tests are needed?
A standard pre-operative panel, a consultation with the anaesthesiologist and, as indicated, an MRI and a therapist's report.
