Thyroid nodules occur in many people. Strain elastography helps assess their stiffness and, together with Doppler and BI-RADS/TI-RADS signs, clarify the risk. This is not a substitute for fine-needle biopsy, but it is a significant argument in choosing the approach — monitoring or puncture.

Preparation

Preparation and limitations

No special preparation is required. The examination is painless and takes about 15 minutes.

The method does not replace fine-needle biopsy: in case of suspicious findings, a puncture and a consultation with an endocrinologist are performed.
