Those who enjoy hot baths should know that staying in hot water for longer than five minutes is not advisable. Prolonged exposure to hot water can increase the risk of cardiovascular complications, warns Vasily Frolov, head of the department at Moscow Polyclinic No. 121.
In addition, prolonged time in hot water has an unfavorable effect on the skin. High temperatures accelerate aging. However, a sauna combined with a contrast shower once a week produces an extremely powerful positive effect on the body.
Frolov also notes: "You shouldn't use a washcloth frequently in the morning. It's better to shower with a shower gel. Using a washcloth 2–3 times a week is optimal so as not to damage the skin. Washing your hair every day is also not recommended; optimally — twice a week. More frequent procedures can dry out the skin."
